Surgical site complications
can be a cause for concern

 

Patients with surgical incisions can experience the following post-operative complications:

• Surgical site infection^{1, 2}
• Blistering^{1, 2}
• Bleeding²
• Pain and discomfort during movement²
• Pain and trauma at dressing changes²

 

Conventional gauze dressings can:⁴

• become rigid and uncomfortable
• require frequent changes
• cause maceration
• provide limited protection from contamination

 

All of these complications can translate to increased time, expense and concern for the patient’s well-being.
